Additional implementation projects promote physical activity. These included partnerships to add playground equipment to parks, schools and low income apartment complexes.
Bardwell Elementary in East Aurora
Bardwell Elementary in East Aurora installed a climbing wall. The wall is used before school and as a part school day curriculum.
Storm Elementary School in Batavia installed playground equipment. The equipment will be used in PE class as well as during recess. The playground is adjacent to a low income apartment complex that does not have its own playground equipment.
Aurora Township Playground
Aurora Township installed playground equipment adjacent to the local soccer fields. The installation was a partnership between the Township, parents and local businesses. The playground completes the transformation of the property from a dumping ground for garbage to a destination for recreation.
South Elgin installed a bike fix-it station on a local trail. Sugar Grove Park District finished a Bike Level of Service Map.
